Wesleyan Professor Ethan Kleinberg Delivering Nugent Lecture at Queen’s University

Professor Ethan Kleinberg has been selected to deliver the prestigious Nugent Lecture at Queen’s University on March 14th, 2024 from 5:30–8 pm at the University Club at Queen’s University. The lecture, titled “The Surge: Temporal Anarchy and the Pursuit of Dynamic History,” promises to delve into the complexities of historical interpretation and the pursuit of dynamic narratives. In this talk, Professor Ethan Kleinberg will explore “temporal anarchy” as an alternative to traditional historical frameworks, arguing that conventional views of time have limited our understanding of the past. This concept, termed “The Surge,” emphasizes the need for a mode of history that embraces temporal complexity and allows for a deeper engagement with the past.
